Happy New Year to all!!!!

Hey everybody!!!
I just wanna take the time out to wish everyone a Happy New Year and to update you a little bit about what I've been up to since I've last blogged.
Well to start the new year off right, I am happy to say that I am happy (for the most part, lol) healthy (thank god!) and so much alive. 2008 was a really hard year for me since I suffered some lost friendships and a broken heart, I'm looking forward to what the new year has to bring me.
I wanna also thank those that showed up to the annual Streetology1 Network Shoe Party that I hosted at the Aerosoles shoe store on 34th st. The turn out was great and a percentage of the proceeds we earned will be going to charity so thanks again for your help and support!
I also want to send my condolences out to someone very dear to me who lost someone very dear to him in a fatal shooting this past December right before Christmas. It's very hard when we lose someone very close to us that sometimes it can change us in many ways we could never imagine. The important thing to remember is to hold God close and let him help you get through it as well as friends and family cuz if nobody else? who would be there? So with that said, D-Money? Regardless if we are on speaking terms or not, I love you dearly and I send my condolences out to you and your family and I am truly sorry for your loss. R.I.P Christopher Umpierre
On a lighter note, things are looking good already for the year, my group, JMY will be dropiing our first single this month, so look out "Dream Guy" as well as "Get Out of my City" both of these songs are totally different but it will give you a glimpse into our lives and reassure you that real music is still out there. So until next time, I wish you all again a beautiful new year and always remember, the power of success never lies....people do.
Take it easy!

A New Smile....

Hey everyone!!! I do hope you all are doing well. Last time I posted, well...we had just embarked on the craziest piece of history. Once again...Congrats to President Elect Obama. Still quite proud of that!
But on to other things...life is generally good for me. Some minor changes and new additions but overall, I'm finding a peace within myself that seemed so hard to find cuz u find yourself looking to someone else to give you that peace when the only person who can do that for you is yourself. Needless to say, I'm happy to face the challenges that are ahead whatever they may be.
As far as the network, we have a lot of great things in the works so I thank you all for being so patient. You have to understand, great art takes time and Rome wasn't built in a day! But we will be bringing you some great things soon enough so thank you for the support and stay tuned. We've only just scraped the surface. Muah!!! Take care!!!!

Congrats to President Obama!!!!

Hello everyone! Tonight we all witnessed history. Whether you voted Obama or McCain, I think its safe to say this was the most exciting election ever! But on a serious note, I just wanna say, Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream once. It took us several decades but his dream was finally achieved. I'm proud to be apart of this election and I'm even prouder with the results. Its not about being black or being white, its about a change and lets face it people...we sat through the same old type of presidents and in the last eight years we as a nation watched them neglect it. So here is the change we asked for. President Senator Barack Obama. First African American president. This is Yobi...Streetology1 Network....saying anything is possible and dreams can truly come true. Thank you

pick and choose your battles...!!!

Hey everybody!!!...Its monday morning and I do hope you all enjoyed your weekend and that it was better than mine was! Mine was a bummer but God willing, I made it through. I even ended up having an okay time! No costume tho. I've realized when dealing in everyday life, your problems are truly YOUR problems and nobody has to care so don't look for it. I know it sounds harsh but sometimes we really can't always see whats up ahead So what do you do then?....Pick and choose your battles. Don't settle for anything less of who you are. Strive to be better! If a person is miserable in their own skin, leave them alone. We all have our own problems but defending our dignity, character and self esteem should not be one of them. Be a dreamer, be a realist but be YOU...

Making fun times with friends in silly situations...

Yesterday I had an interesting day...not only was I a little bored, but my wonderful bff, Jillian Valentine and I literally forced ourselves to find something to do. okay so here's what happened...we decided on a sunday night we wanted to go out, but the procrastinators we seem to be sometimes, had us hanging around the house until 1 am. We then had the bright idea to get dressed up and go to this spot where its a bar but also a place to play games. We called before hand to make sure they were open and the lovely woman I spoke to said they would close at 3am. So we figured "great! we can hang out for an hour n half" we get all the way there to find they closed at 1:45. What luck! So what did we do???...we went back to our neighborhood and drove aimlessly around looking for anything to do, cuz u figure, we got dolled up and now nowhere to go? That sucks!...so being that we NEVER actually hang out around our neighborhood, we took a chance and went to a neighborhood bar. While we were there, some guys walked over and began speaking to us. Oddly enough, we carried the convo but the kicker came when one of them approached Jill and said, "hey, since your friend won't give me her number, can I have yours???" Ewwww! Sorry! But what a dumb thing to say, I mean, really! The funny thing was, neither one of us wanted any of them anyway! We were just being polite! Needless to say, we pretty much laughed in his face told him he was better off drinking himself to oblivion and finding someone he could do the same with! lmao!!!!... we basically made fun of ourselves and filmed little videos on our phones about how pathetic it was that we forced ourselves to find something to do cuz trust me guys, if u saw this bar, you probably would have just went home! lol...But this is really just a lesson and a point I'm trying to make.
NEVER FORCE ANYTHING CUZ IF YOU HAVE TO FORCE YOURSELF TO FIND SOMETHING TO DO, YOUR BETTER OFF STAYING IN, CUZ IF YOU DON'T???...YOU COULD WINDE UP MEETING PEOPLE WHO WALK AROUND WITH THEIR FOOT IN THEIR MOUTHS!!! LOL...
Think about it!...if you guys have any forced fun outings with friends, I'd love to hear from you!...Let me hear anything that was better or worse than my night. Laughs are always good and I'm pretty sure we all can use them nowadays...until later! Always stay safe!

A Time To Reflect....

Hey everybody!...I hope all you are feeling good today. I am doing alright myself. What i realy want to touch on today is reflecting on past experiences. It was yesturday I looked at my own life and actually looked at it for the first time. Am I happy? Am I content?...I figured if I have to ask myself these questions then I probably am not. So in a situation like that...what do you do?

So here is my solution: I know what I'm striving for in this life and although many obstacles have tripped me up, I'm still here trying. A recent break up, a vandalized car, and economic issues are definitley thorns in my side but not the end of my original vision. My plan is to remain focused, find a new love within myself and move forward. Those who can keep up are challenged to run with me and those who cant are unfortunately left behind.

In the words of our living rap legend Mr. Jay-z himself..."I'm focused man..."....your probably wondering what's my original vision???...well your looking at it right now...thank you all for your continued support in the Streetology1 Network....this is YOBI....until next time.....

FYI:....on a musical note...check out Beyonce's new song, "If I Were A Boy"....this is purely only for the ladies...sorry guys!...but this song is really beautiful if you just listen to the words and the video is even better....her other single?? "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"....well I wouldnt be Yobi if I wasnt honest...the song is not my fave, sooooo....I would go for the other one. Let me know what you guys think!

Sad days.... : (

Hey everybody....your probably wondering why I'm so sad today. Unfortunately Thursday night my car was broken into and they stole pretty much everything I had in my trunk. Now ladies, if your anything like me, then you have a couple of outfits and shoes here and there in your car just in case you may need to change or something. Soooooo, particularly that day I had two leather duffel bags filled with clothes that i had just put in my trunk.

To make a long story short, I left them in there overnight, came out to my car the following morning to find someone physically broke into the car and only took my clothes!!! Just my clothes!!! and even my underwear! such weirdos!....they left my ipod, didnt rip out my DVD player or anything! So you must understand how violated I feel right now. It's definitely a sad day for me and my little Acura : (

So this is really just a lesson and something that i had to go through I suppose. Never leave anything you value in the car!!! lol...what can I say? I have to make a joke of this cause if I dont....I'll be upset.
Thanks for listening guys...and if you've had this happen to you before as well, I would truly love to hear from you. Nothing is better than support!

Guns N’ Roses New Album Coming Out (Really??), Britney Spears Sets the Record Straight and Other Music News…

It has been an interesting week in entertainment news – that is for sure. We are happy to see that Britney Spears plans on setting the record straight after coming out of several down years. In other news, in the “we’ll-believe-it-when-we see-it category,” Guns N’ Roses’ “Chinese Democracy” is slated to come out next month (only took like 10 years). And, Metallica drummer, Lars Ulrich is planning on selling one of his Jean-Michel Basquiat paintings for more than $14 million – not like the dude needed more money. Finally, in indie music news, we are happy to see that My Morning Jacket singer-guitarist Jim James has been released from the hospital after being injured in a fall during a concert at the University of Iowa. Jim, we wish you a speedy recovery! Happy Friday all!

T.I. Brings Life Lessons to "Paper Trail"

Every hip-hop artist learns from his or her mistakes, and often brings these lessons to life in their art. The new T.I. album, Paper Trail, is a perfect example of this. Facing gun possession charges that could result in jail time, T.I. has chosen to channel his experiences into his new album and early reviews have been very positive. T.I. also collaborated with super talents such as Rihanna, Usher, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, John Legend and Justin Timberlake, making this album a potential hit – even if he faces uncertain criminal charges.

I would love to hear what you all think of T.I.'s new album!

My First Post! Run DMC Nominated for Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!

Big Hello to all Streetology1.com fans!

This is my very first blog post and it's a good one! Run DMC bring nominated for the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame - that's big news!

Run DMC being nominated for induction into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame is a banner moment for hip hop music. They are the true godfathers who brought this genre of music into the mainstream and legitimized this musical format in the eyes of the masses. Much like Grandmaster Flash did in 2002, Run DMC will surely pave the way for more hip hop artists to be recognized by this great institution.

I would love to hear from everyone on their thoughts about this great news!

Much love,
Yobi
